House cleaning Tips for children's room and Kids play room

HOUSE CLEANING TIPS FOR KIDS’ ROOMS AND THE PLAYROOM

All parents know that little ones don’t like to share much of anything — except, of course, their germs, which they’re more than happy to pass around. While you can’t follow your kids around with hand sanitizer or disinfecting wipes (much as you’d like to), you can try these simple rules and routines for cleaning the germiest places in the rooms children spend the most time: their bedroom and the playroom.
• Wipe down the changing table every few days with mild soap and water. For those times when soap and water isn’t up to the job — when your baby is sick or has just had a massive poop explosion — use a disinfectant wipe to clean the surface. It’s also a good idea to use a pad with a removable cover that you can throw in the laundry regularly to wash the germs away.
• Have kids wash hands before and after they play with toys (plus when they use the bathroom, eat, blow their noses, come in from outside, play with a pet…the list goes on!).
• Tackle playroom surfaces with a disinfecting wipe or cleanser regularly — even when the kids are healthy (toy boxes, drawer handles, and the like are all potential homes to cold- and flu-causing viruses).
• Give toys a bath, too. Hard plastic toys can go in the dishwasher (put little ones in a mesh bag). Stuffed animals can take a spin through the washing machine or you can put them in plastic bags and keep them in the freezer overnight (to get rid of dust mites that can exacerbate — or cause — allergies).
• Engage Professionals: Professionals Knows how, where and when to start tackling those sickening germs in your home. Give them a chance so they can help you get rid of those germs. Use Chogon Cleaning Services Limited Today!.

Bedbug Fumigation Preparations for homes and offices

Bed Bug Fumigation Preparation (Structural Fumigation):
  1. Bring as few items as possible when leaving the residence, fumigate everything possible. Bed bugs are known hitch hikers and can harbor in suitcases, backpacks, boxes, clothing, bedding and pet cages. This is the most common way they are being introduced into buildings. They have even been known to infest small electronic devices.
  2. For all fabric items that will not be fumigated, wash in hot water and dry on high heat in a dryer, no less than 140 degrees, before moving back into the residence. This includes any clothing, bedding, pillows, stuffed toys and pet bedding.
  3. DO NOT use boxes, suitcases, back packs, gym bags or any similar items from the infested residence/dwelling, to pack the items that will remain with you. The items you take with you should be packed into a light colored or clear box or bags that have not been stored into the infested residence/dwelling.
  4. DO NOT fumigate anything that requires oxygen to breathe such as plants and animals.
  5. Medicinal items need to be removed, especially if they are over-the-counter medications. Prescription medications, while commonly distributed in airtight containers, should also be inspected then removed from structure/property for safety’s sake. Precautionary step.
  6. You can fumigate all topical toiletries; however, toothpaste and mouthwash need to be removed as they can be ingested in their use. Precautionary step.
  7. All items that are open and digestible need to be fumigated and discarded after fumigation this is done to ensure that bed bugs are not spread by simply tossing out the items. This includes items in the refrigerator, freezer and pantry.
  8. Baby mattresses or plastic encased mattresses that have been fumigated CANNOT be placed back into the home. If the encasement can be removed, we can fumigate the mattress and you can place it back into your home.
  9. Pet Cages and bedding should be included in your fumigated items. Pet cages can contain small gaps in which bed bugs could harbor. Pet food needs to be removed. Your pet needs to be transported in a new pet carrier or placed in a bed bug free housing prior to the fumigation. The pets bedding should not accompany the pet unless it has been washed, dried and packed as previously described.
  10. Use cardboard boxed when packing for the fumigation. DO NOT use plastic crates or containers. The fumigant cannot penetrate the plastic.
  11. We require 20% of air space when loading the container/truck to ensure proper circulation of the fumigant.
  12. Be sure you have your pest control operator apply an intense, residual application of the residence prior to moving back in. The gas will kill all stages of the bed bug in the stored items, however it provides no residual and therefore no permanent control or continuous protection and the items fumigated could be subject to infestation. Please have the pest control operator treat the premise with a long lasting residual application.

The Most Forgotten Places to Clean in our Homes and Offices

THE MOST FORGOTTEN PLACES TO CLEAN IN YOUR HOME
It’s almost time for spring cleaning! Before we get too carried away, let’s take a moment to try to remember the nastiest, filthiest parts of the home, some of which you surely haven’t cleaned in a while. Make sure to put these spots on your cleaning and janitorial list!
Items You’ve Likely Forgotten to Clean

·         Toaster cleaning: If you enjoy toast every once in a while, like me, and then don’t clean out the crumbs, you have a very dangerous fire hazard on your hands.
·         Dish Rack cleaning: You may sense a theme with this list: A lot of the things that are the most dirty often aid us in cleaning. Every once in a while, you should disinfect your dish-drying rack after cleaning same.
·         Dishwasher cleaning: Your dishwasher is always full of soap and running water, so how can it get dirty? Trust me; it does. Some recommend washing out and cleaning of your dishwasher with vinegar once a month. Run a cycle with vinegar and a cycle with baking soda using these instructions and you’ll be good to go.
·         Laundry Machine cleaning: If you don’t always use bleach, your washing machine can be a dirty place. Start a warm cycle with no clothes and add five cups of white vinegar to clean. Do this every six months.
·         Cleaning Under the Range Hood: This is a specific type of unpleasant grease that many people really don’t want to deal with nor remember to clean. Pop out the filter and go to town with hot, hot water and baking soda.
·         Refrigerator Parts cleaning: Black mold is very dangerous to the health of you and your family, and even if you don’t see any evidence of it, the fridge can be a breeding ground for other molds and hidden germs and should occasionally be cleaned. Pay special attention to the rubber sealant on your refrigerator door as well as fridge shelves and bins.
·         Laundry baskets cleaning: Dirty laundry teems with bacteria, and if you’re like some of my relatives, who like to fold clean laundry in the same basket they used to carry the dirty laundry, maybe don’t. At the very least clean it always and disinfect it first.
·         Between, Under, and Behind Appliances cleaning: These dust bunnies can be ugly, and they can also be a fire hazard.
·         The Top of Your Cabinets and Fridge: How often do you go up there? I find that between cabinets and the refrigerator is where a lot of the worst dust bunnies live. You are encouraged to always clean it
·         Ceiling fan cleaning: Don’t keep blowing the same dust throughout your home over and over. Use this super-simple trick with a pillowcase to clean it without getting the dust everywhere.
·         Pillows cleaning: Should you clean your pillows? Do you like sleeping on pests and dead skin? Dirty pillows can be very bad for respiratory health, and most people don’t realize they can usually just throw them in the washing machine. (Pay attention to the instructions for drying, and if they allow machine-drying, throw a few clean tennis balls in there, too, to keep them fluffy.)
·         Coffee Makers cleaning: Drip coffee machines apparently are one of the kitchen appliances teeming with the most bacteria in many homes, probably because so few know how to clean it. Just run it with vinegar and hot water every once in a while.
·         Makeup Brushes cleaning: Ladies (and some men), please don’t put bacteria on your face or in your eyes over and over. There are several methods to clean these brushes, but I’m told that baby shampoo works best.
·         Yoga/Exercise Mat cleaning: Foot fungus, sweat, dirt, and bacteria hang out where you like to be spiritually centered. Use some detergent and water and hose it down, or, if you don’t have time before class, spray it down with water mixed with tea tree oil (because then, it will smell good, too, as you’re doing camels).
·         Bath Mat cleaning: It’s holding all of that water from your shower collected in one rug; throw it in the laundry.
·         Cleaning Items Themselves: When you’re absolutely done spring cleaning, consider taking the time to freshen up your vacuum and broom, as it will extend their usefulness and cleaning them will help prevent spreading illness. Remember to clean your vacuum’s filter, too.
·         Garbage Pails cleaning: I clean these really frequently, myself. It might be time to break out the bleach.
·         Shower Curtain and Rod cleaning: Don’t be cheap; replace your shower curtain every once in a while, and wipe down that rod, too. The top is where people often don’t clean, where there’s rust or soap buildup.
Items You Should Probably Disinfect More Often after cleaning and janitorial includes;
·         Doorknobs
·         Toilet and faucet handles
·         Light switches
·         Your smartphone, tablet, or device (plus their cases and where you put them)
·         Plastic credit cards
·         Remote control
·         Your purse (and where you usually set it down)
·         Towel and toilet paper holders
·         Bath towels
·         Sponges (especially kitchen sponges)
·         Kitchen knobs, switches, and buttons
·         Pet bowls, beds, and toys
·         Toothbrush cup/holder

ASKED QUESTIONS
Home / Residential Cleaning FAQs
CARPET
Is professional carpet cleaning expensive?
Professional carpet cleaning can be just pennies compared to the cost of replacing it. Call today to get an estimate from one of our professionals.

How long will it take to have my carpets cleaned at my home?
The amount of time will be contingent on the size of the area needing to be cleaned and processes used – either low moisture, portable extraction, or truck-mount extraction, in terms of efficiencies and time. A highly trained CHOGON Facilities technician can help you choose a program that best meets your needs and schedule.

Will carpet cleaning be disruptive to my family?
The team at CHOGON Facilities will work with you to schedule a time convenient for you. Our technician will inform you of estimated dry times needed.

Can I use household carpet cleaners for spot removal?
We recommend using only CHOGON Facilities Clean products. For more information, contact your local CHOGON Facilities Cleaning professional.

How often do I need to get my carpets professionally cleaned?
To keep your carpets in your home looking their best, we recommend having your carpets professionally cleaned every 6-12 months depending on traffic. Many carpet manufacturers require professional cleaning to maintain your warranty, so save your cleaning receipts.

When will I be able to walk on my floors after a carpet cleaning?
Allow drying time of six to eight hours before you walk on your carpet. It is best to wait two days before placing heavy furniture back onto carpet if not using blocks

Will there be an odor?
Depending on the type of carpet we’re cleaning, you may notice a faint scent. This is especially prevalent when cleaning wool carpets. The amount of time it takes for the odor to dissipate is usually within an hour but varies based on air circulation, heat and humidity. A big difference in the way CHOGON Facilities  cleans carpet compared to many of our competitors is that we do not put soap in our rinse water. We pre-spray the carpets, remove the spots, then use clean water extraction, ensuring we do not leave any soapy residue behind. This allows for fresh, clean carpets.

Do I need to do anything prior to the technician arriving for my scheduled service?
Yes. Remove breakables from the tops of furniture in the room we will be cleaning. Pick up items from the floor, such as rugs, plants, toys, pet beds, etc. Pre-vacuum all areas to be cleaned.

Do I have to move furniture?
To get the best results with professional carpet cleaning, we recommend removing furniture from the rooms we will be cleaning. However, we can place blocks under lighter items such as end tables, coffee tables, dining room chairs, loveseats, chairs and small sofas. Items we clean around instead of moving include beds, armoires, pieces containing china and electronics, exercise equipment and large or heavy sofas.

Are there instructions to follow after my carpets are cleaned?
Immediately after cleaning, it’s best to allow carpets to dry for at least 8 hours before walking on them. Walking on them may flatten the fibers. When walking on them for the next 8 hours, wear white cotton socks. Use air movers if needed to help air circulation as this will speed up the drying time. If a carpet protector such as ScotchgardTM was applied, foot traffic should be minimized for up to 24 hours to let the product cure. Don’t move any furniture back in place until carpet is completely dry or Scotchgard carpet protector has cured. Regular maintenance includes vacuuming often and cleaning up spills immediately.

How can I remove impressions on my carpets that heavy furniture left behind?
Our technical experts at CHOGON Facilities  Clean recommend using a clothes steamer to remove the furniture dents. If you do not have a clothes steamer handy, you can use a kitchen towel and an iron. Place a damp towel over the carpet dent. Heat the iron to a medium heat setting then set the iron on the damp towel. You can use the steam button on the iron periodically. Remove the iron and towel to check the carpet. If it is to your liking, use your fingers to fluff the carpet. If the dent still needs work, place the warm iron on the damp towel and repeat. This process is not suitable for carpets made of olefin fiber.

Acrylic finish is generally less expensive than other finishes. However, multiple coats may be necessary to achieve the level of gloss and level of protection you desire.

Will applying acrylic void my manufacturer’s warranty on the floor?
It may. However, most factory warranties do not cover scratching, wear and abrasion. If your floor has reached this stage, your best option is to protect it. Many factory finishes, like acrylic, will eventually wear out. You can most closely achieve that factory type finish by applying a thin coat of acrylic. Refer to the manufacturer’s warranty.

Isn’t it hard to fix an area that is damaged? What if I drag a large piece of furniture across it and leave a scratch?
Acrylic finishes that are scratched can often be spray buffed or burnished so that the scratch is either less noticeable or repaired altogether. In many cases, applying a thin coat over the scratch is helpful. Call your local CHOGON Facilities Cleaning professionals and let us repair the damaged area.

Will furniture scratch floors with acrylic finish?
Furniture that is broken, in ill repair or not fitted with the proper floor protectors may damage the finish. Inspect all furniture before acrylic installation and apply proper protectors.

How long will it take to have my floors coated with acrylic?
Preparation will depend upon the condition of the existing floor, current number of coats, repairs required, etc. When applying an acrylic finish, stripping of the old finish is usually necessary. When that’s the case, finish removal plus the application of 3 coats of finish requires 1 hour for every 150 ft2 of flooring. If a floor does not require stripping, it can generally be shower scrubbed which is a procedure used for preparing a floor for receiving a new layer of finish. Once that has taken place, a floor can be recoated at anywhere from 4,000 to 6,000 square feet per hour.

Will the application of acrylic disrupt my business?
Unless your facility is open 24 hours, we can work after hours and the area worked on can be up and running the next business day. If your facility is open 24 hours every day, we can work with you to determine the hours that are least busy. During those hours we can come, cordon off traffic areas and work in such a manner so as to minimize disruption of your work environment.

We can provide more information on a suitable product.

How often do I clean my floors?
Floors should definitely be cleaned when they appear to be dirty. It is good practice to clean floors before it gets to that level because the floor can accumulate many tiny abrasive particles which can scratch it and mar its appearance. It is generally best to dry mop a floor with a microfiber cloth and then damp mop the floor with an appropriate cleaning solution to get up the soil.

When will I be able to walk on my floors?
Hard-surface floors treated with an acrylic finish can be walked on within an hour after the last coat was applied. We recommend allowing the floor to dry for 24 hours before allowing heavy traffic on it.

How do I maintain this floor after the acrylic application?
Leave the daily cleaning to the professionals at CHOGON Facilities Cleaning. We offer daily, weekly or monthly cleaning services for your facility. If you should choose to do some of the cleaning yourself, pre-clean the floor in order to get all of the particulate soils off the floor such as dirt and sand, then mop the floor with a neutral cleansing agent and preferably a microfiber mop. Make sure to change the water and rinse the mop frequently to prevent the mop from leaving soil behind.

Do I need to do anything prior to the technician arriving for my scheduled service?

Pick up items from the floor such as rugs, plants, trash containers, recycle bins, file cabinets, chairs, etc. Vacuum or dust mop all debris found on your floors prior to your cleaning. Urethane is NEVER buffed. Buffing may actually diminish the gloss of the finish.

Is urethane slippery when wet?
Any coated surface can be slippery when wet. Our urethane product is considered to have acceptable slip resistance according to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI) B101.3-2012 test method for measuring wet dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) of common hard-surface floor materials. We offer optional additives to create high slip resistance (lower probability of slipping) for wet environments or areas of concern.

How long will urethane floors last?
Wear of any finish depends greatly on traffic, use and cleaning practices; an average lifespan is 2 years.

Does urethane have a span odor during application?
Urethane finish contains no VOCs or solvents, which are often the source of span and even harmful fumes. It has a very light, almost unnoticeable, clean scent.

Isn’t urethane more expensive than a traditional acrylic finish?
Yes and no. The cost of product per square foot for the application of urethane finish is more than an acrylic finish. However, customers will see a return on the initial investment in urethane because of the reduced need for ongoing regular maintenance. As a building owner, this will also result in fewer disruptions within the facility.

Will applying urethane void my manufacturer’s warranty on the floor?
It may. However, most factory warranties do not cover scratching, wear and abrasion. If your floor has reached this stage, your best option is to protect it. Many factory finishes, like urethane, will eventually wear out. You can most closely achieve that factory type finish by applying a thin coat of urethane. Refer to the manufacturer’s warranty.

Will the application of urethane disrupt my business?
The initial application process will require stripping any existing coatings and applying urethane coating plus drying time. I think my floor's appearance should be improved, but I'm concerned about the price. What should I do?
Consider the cost of non-action. Urethane not only makes your floors shiny, which gives the perception of cleanliness, but it protects your flooring investment. Floors are subject to traffic wear patterns, chemicals and stains as well as scratching. Applying a urethane finish will protect your floors and extend their life span.
